How old is my dog in human years?

It's not simply "times seven." Here's how dog years really add up.

The old "multiply by seven" rule is a myth. Dogs grow up much faster early on.

A better rule of thumb

  • The first year is roughly 15 human years
  • The second year adds about nine more
  • After that, each year is about four to five human years
